Truth in Love

This mission of this blog is to help you in your search for truth about Jesus Christ. This blog will begin sifting through challenging topics and presenting ideas as to how to interoperate and apply the truths of the Bible to our daily lives. Not all that Jesus speaks over us is comfortable, yet all that which he says is for our good.

Motivation For the Site

This month has been challenging. I let the busyness of life overwhelm me, between 3 undergraduate projects that I’m mentoring I also had a qualifying exam that has the ability to grant me access to the rest of my PhD pursuits or to kick me out of the program.

With the QE out of the way I found myself tired. Emotionally, Spiritually, and oddly enough Physically. Sitting in my graduate student cave ( which most would call an apartment ), I decided to pick up my Bible. In dullness, I read through the story of Ahab, an encouraging psalm that I cannot remember, and the betrayal of Jesus.

Whence I was finished reading I reflected and prayed over what I was supposed to glean from the session. I only heard Him speak and encourage me to start blogging and sharing. This feeling has washed over me several times. Mostly in wanting to share the truth in love to any who would listen, sometimes in sharing what I know from my electrical engineering studies.

After pondering what the site could be, how it would be formatted, what I should start with. It feels fairly clear that I should start with our Identity in the kingdom of heaven and our value as humans.

This is just a test post. It will most likely be taken down and re-written professionally. But here goes the start of a new season of study, rest, and renewal.

  1. Love the honesty and vulnerability! As an undergraduate student myself with way too many extracurricular involvements (internship, jobs, organizations, student leadership, volunteering, etc.) I can relate. I appreciate you sharing this message and encouraging me to remember it is He who gives me the strength to persevere.

If I had one tip with content creation I would say to stay consistent and do not focus on the numbers too much!

    1. Good luck with your educational endeavors! I had this really bad semester during my undergrad where I had too many classes, and frankly, was irresponsible with my time in the first half of the semester. I came so close to failing out of college and I was so anxious and stressed. I hit a breaking point where I had no option but to submit it to Jesus, and immediately the anxiety was gone and miraculously, when I hadn’t the time to do an assignment because I was working on putting out the fires in other classes that were in more danger of failing, the assignment would get extended, the exam moved, help unlooked for.

Nothing of my doing, just support from the Heavenly Father who was introducing me to his Grace.

Tip taken! I’ll try to set a schedule for reflection that allows room for thought expression on this site.

      1. Thanks for sharing your experience! I am certainly in a place where I need to cast my transgressions unto the Lord so hearing your story is inspirational. Looking forward to your next posts!

    1. Thank you for your encouragement! I hope to share my experience beyond the “rules” or “religion” and really express it as a relationship, which we all know the cliche, communication is key 😉
